The Restaurant Industry Is Bouncing Back

The National Restaurant Association in a press release today announced that nearly 1.4 million jobs were added to the industry in May.The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that there were 6.3 million employees on payroll at eating and drinking places in the USA in April 2020. This represented the industry’s lowest employment level since May 1988. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also reported how the Restaurant industry is recover quickly. The industry started to reopen in communities across america. The BLS noticed that employees were being rehired. a recent National Restaurant Association survey of restaurant operators. In a nationwide survey conducted in mid-May showed that 62% of restaurant operators who laid off or furloughed staff said they rehired some of these employees in recent days or weeks.
